Meet The Board
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mr. Keith H. Burgess is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Dollicia F. Holloway Memorial Foundation. In this capacity, Mr. Burgess will provide assistance to creating positive youth development programs through the implementation of Financial Literacy classes, higher education scholarships and forums on Domestic Violence and Hearing Impairment.
Mr. Burgess served as a Financial Literacy Consultant with the Economic Opportunities Commission of Nassau County, Inc. While in attendance, he created and implemented the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance(VITA) Program, which allowed income eligible clients to file Federal and State Income Tax at no cost. Simultaneously, he developed the Learn and Earn Assistance Program(Project LEAP), a youth mentoring program which helped High School students learn about and understand the importance of Financial Literacy(savings, budgeting, credit, identity theft, insurance). Mr. Burgess is actively involved with the Nassau County Coalition against Domestic Violence Awareness
In 2010, Mr. Burgess was awarded by the Internal Revenue Service for outstanding public service contributed to Nassau County through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). In addition, he was recognized for his outstanding public service for SPEC (Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication) and TCE (Tax Counseling Elderly) Programs. Mr. Burgess is a member of Cambridge Who's Who Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs. He was recently appointed Board Secretary for the African American Chamber of Commerce in January 2014. Recently selected as a recipient for the Long Island Business News 50 Around 50 2014 awards for the Foundation as well as appearing in the Long Island Newsday Executive Suite on March 23, 2015.
Mrs. Altanya M. Gerald-Burgess is the Deputy Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Treasurer for the Dollicia F. Holloway Memorial Foundation. In these roles Mrs. Gerald-Burgess will ensure operations of fiances and initiatives are running smoothly and will have care and custody of all funds and securities of the corporation. She served in a managerial capacity with previous employers, such as PageNet, Inc and as assistant Treasurer for several outreach programs directed to community-based nonprofit organizations in her community. She is currently involved with the Nassau County Coalition For Domestic Violence Awareness. She has a passion for youth and those living with a hearing impairment.
