Events of 2014
On Saturday, June 21, 2014 - "Walking Towards A Brighter Future" 8k Walk-A-Thon was held at Wantagh Park, in Wantagh, NY
This was our youth initiative - The H.I.P. H.O.P Movement, first event debut!
We had a great number of supports join us in the celebration of our Merit Award Winner Rachel TN Johnson who was on her way to Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
Along with Rachel we had two community leaders, two educators and one HIP HOP Pioneer:
Dorothy L. Goosby - Councilwoman at Town of Hempstead
Roxanne Shante - Hip Hop Pioneer
Ray Thomas - Director Health and Minority Affairs of Nassau County of Ed Mangano's office
Shango Blake - Educator and Founder of Tru-Skol Consultants
Callie Ban - Educator in the New York City Department of Education
We had a ball, Press releases were acknowledged in LongIsland.com, Newsday, NYC Trend and the Community Journal.
We cannot wait until next year!
Saturday, September 6, 2014 our youth initiative, The H.I.P. H.O.P. Movement held our first "Build-A-Backpack Back" To School Drive.
Our organization was privileged to assist over 23 children with new backpacks and supplies for school.
It was held at the Smith Street Park Community Center in Uniondale, NY from 3pm to 5pm
WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING RESOURCES TO OUR CommUNITY!
